ROOT CANAL TREATMENT
_edited.jpg)
When your tooth is damaged due to decay or a knock, its nerve may be injured as well; bacteria can also enter and start attacking it. This causes the nerve to eventually die if it is unable to heal properly. If this happens, you may experience severe long-lasting pain and some swelling around the tooth. Root Canal Treatment removes dead nerve tissue and bacteria to allow the tooth to heal.

Before we start the treatment, we gently numb the tooth to make sure the procedure is not painful. We then open a small hole into the tooth and carefully remove all the dead/dying nerve from the tooth. We also thoroughly disinfect the tooth to ensure it is free from bacteria. At the second visit, we wash away the medicine and fill the tooth to stop bacteria from reinfecting it.
* Root canalled teeth become more brittle and can break more easily. In most cases it is recommended to follow up with a crown to protect the tooth from breaking.
