CROWNS

Your teeth are subjected to heavy chewing forces through daily use. People who clench/grind their teeth place even more stress on their teeth in addition to these chewing forces. This can cause teeth to crack and break – teeth with large fillings or have had root canal treatment have a higher risk of breaking.

Dental crowns are hard ‘shells’ that fully cover your tooth and protect it from breaking. It follows the natural shape of your tooth, and depending on the material used, it can follow the color of your natural teeth as well.

We trim your tooth down slightly to make space for the crown, and then take molds of your upper and lower teeth to get exact replicas. These replicas are used to make a highly accurate and aesthetic crown. Once the crown is ready, it is fitted over your tooth at the second visit, and is carefully checked to make sure you are happy with its appearance, fit and biting before cementing it in place.
